Serenity

Artist Kim Jae-seon emphasizes the artificial limitations inherent in works that create specific units with no orientation on a confined plane, as well as the tension and expansion of a limited screen. These limitations serve as a foundation for expansion, representing the resilience of slow movements that consistently take shape in gradually filling winds. The hidden inner strength of the artist, who has walked a solitary path for over 30 years, is evident in this work.

In other words, the artist expresses a free flow that extends meaning from a limited screen to the invisible realm beyond the vast universe in a series of works. This represents a harmonious expansion of time and space, connecting the present and future through movement rather than a static state. The transition from visual constraints to boundless space reflects a creative transformation of thought, showcasing the artist’s infinite potential to view conceptual images or formations from different perspectives.

The driving force behind these various interpretations is the notion of footprints, encapsulating multiple nuances. The vibrant movement within the artwork translates into musical rhythm and harmony. It conveys the breathlessness of running fast, the joy experienced while navigating bends in the road, the confusion arising from conflicts encountered along paths of varying nuances, and the satisfaction of achieving harmony when reconciling these experiences, ultimately moving toward a sense of unity.

If you engage with the work by releasing habitual indifference and taking a moment to reflect, you will uncover a love that you may have overlooked. You will experience the freedom of time and space that resonates with the artist’s imagery. In doing so, you may confront the profound truths of life found in simplicity and recognize your true self walking from afar.
