| [CULTURAL ISSUE] Sojeonseolim
Sojeonseolim(素磚書林), the forest of books where your identity grows, literally means ‘forest of books surrounded by plain white bricks’.
Sojeonseolim is a literature library locaated in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul and opened in February 2020. Sojeonseolim’s book section on literature is classified by Sojeonseolim’s own ways prioritized by genre, countries and authors. There are about 30,000 books on literature, art and liberal arts owned by Sojeonseolim and Sojeon Academy, humanities class provided by Sojeonseolim. These classes are run mainly on Literature+(Literature class), Philosophy+(Philosophy class), Art+(Art class).
Like a forest that generates and cycles by itself, Sojeonseolim believes that experience through reading books and culture will facilitate the visitors to grow, relax and cycle. Liberal arts reading such as literature, art and philosophy which Sojeonseolim presents, will inspire the visitors to find their book preferences as well as show ways to be highly literate. The book curator at Sojeonseolim provides book recommendation services, and you may enjoy ‘happy solitude’ at book stack for one person without making reservations.
Sojeonseolim is a library and an art salon at the same time. The visitors can enjoy books published by galleries and art museums all over the world and share live arts through lectures on literature and liveral arts, performances and text declamation.
Sojeonseolim is composed of Yedam, the place for books on literature and art, and event hall at the same time, Cheongdam, the exclusive lounge for authors, Haojae, the outdoor annex building and Two-by-Two(2×2), the cafe attached to Sojeonseolim.
